Harp & Piano Lessons

Hannah’s teaching philosophy centers on ensuring that every student develops proper technique from the start to maximize playing efficiency while learning standard repertoire and most importantly- enjoying the process while doing so!

She initially teaches with patience and positive reinforcement but will introduce a more structured and firm approach when consistent progress isn't being made—always prioritizing the student’s growth, especially for those with ambitious or competitive goals.

For students who are self-motivated and not pursuing a competitive path, she adapts her teaching to support a more personalized pace especially those that are multi-talented in various instruments or who want to learn harp or piano for specific reasons!

For those with ambitious or competitive goals, she initially teaches with patience and positive reinforcement but will introduce a more structured and focused approach for both student and parent to help ensure consistent progress.

Knowing that harp is generally still considered a soloistic instrument, she also tries to connect students of various age and skill together by offering opportunities when available for collaboration on chamber music, jam sessions or just to be included in one’s local music community in the Bay Area!
